Product Description

From School Library Journal

Grade 6-9-- In the year 2015, the world economy has collapsed, and the western area of the United States is divided into two warring territories, democratic Turtalia and military dictatorship Dorado. Three young Turtalian agents are sent to contract rebel forces in the east, where they become involved in a conflict with a vicious drug cartel allied to the Doradan high command. This poorly plotted book--basically a series of more or less connected events--reads just like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" tale, minus the choices. There are numerous hair's breadth escapes, space alien interventions, gory deaths, and a staggering variety of villains. Unfortunately, that which produces compelling involvement in comparatively short participation stories is merely confusing in a full-length book. Steer YA science-fiction fans to Ursula LeGuin and John Christopher instead. --Elaine E. Knight, Lincoln Elementary Schools, IL
