Product Description

Horatio Caine, a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators who work crimes amid the steamy, tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. His team includes Calleigh Dusquene, a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics; Tim Speedle, a cocky yet disarming investigator who is well connected on the street, and Eric Delko, an underwater recovery expert who knows all the twists and turns of the Florida waterways. Rounding out the team is Alexx Woods, the no-nonsense, know-it-all coroner. Together, these investigators collect and analyze the evidence to solve the crimes and to vindicate those who often cannot speak for themselves -- the victims.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Video/Audio Quality Mar 4 2012
The video and sound quality of several of the episodes in this set were poor. The video would skip and the audio was not aligned with the picture. Fast forward and then fast rewind sometimes fixed the problem. I realize this was a previously viewed item but it was advertised as like new.

3.0 out of 5 stars soap opera or cop show Dec 29 2006
I don't get CSI here in the single-TV-channel boondocks, so I rely on "complete package" DVD's to keep up with my favourite cop dramas like CSI & L&O. Hitherto I have been a loyal fan of CSI Miami. My neighbour told me he had given up watching CSI Miami (though he still enjoys Las Vegas & NY versions) because it was getting more like a soap opera than a cop show. I ignored him and bought the set anyway. After viewing 16 of the episodes on this set, I have to agree. I find myself so annoyed by the sulky petulence of Delko & the discarded women in his wake; & the beauteous yet utterly unrealistic Marisol whom Horatio marries that I can hardly concentrate on the crime being investigated. Marisol looks like she had weathered all the ravages of a hang-nail, rather than cancer & chemotherapy. (As a cancer survivor, I ought to know).

The two leading women, Emily Proctor & Khandi Alexander, could have phoned in their parts; they seem barely noticeable amid the bickering of the other characters. And someone ought to tell David Caruso that black is not his colour.

My advice to the producers; if you want to stay in business, fire last season's writers, cut the maudlin crap and get back to the high standards of season 1 & 2.
