This will always be one of my favorite CD's .... I've been a fan for years, since I saw it in Boston in 1979 or 1980. I think I have three copies of the same CD for some reason. I usually keep one in the car, one at home, an uploaded version on my computer, and I even heard Harvey Firestein perform "I Am What I Am" live!
Also, when I saw The Bird Cage for the first time, I was disappointed. I explained to my movie-going-partner that it was La Cage Aux Folles, without the music. Then, I went on to complain, that each scene should have had a song cue, and proceeded to take out my [then] cassette tape copy from my glove compartment and hold it up, as if to say, "SEE?"
My companion then replied, "I don't know what's worse. That you KNOW it should be a musical, or that you carry the tape with you!"
