4.0 out of 5 stars okay I guess April 2 2012

I haven't tried any of the recipes but I don't know that I will. Bad formatting is the biggest issue, one recipe begins on the bottom of one page and fills the next 2.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute little gooseberry patch book April 4 2012

I collect all of Gooseberry Cookbooks, so I love it when Gooseberry Patch releases a free book. These old-fashioned early ones are super cute, and this book is no exception.

This book contains 50 easy-peasy recipes for cake and other desserts using cake mix as the main ingredient.

I can't wait to try the brown Brown Sugar breakfast rolls, as well as the fantastic looking recipe for Strawberry Angel Roll!

This is a great addition to your Gooseberry patch collection, especially if you like making desserts!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE it April 4 2012

As a busy wife, mother, home cook and food blogger, I love the idea of using store bought boxed cake mixes as the jumping point for desserts. There is nothing wrong w/ taking a little help from the store when you can, and there is a reason why cake mix companies have made tons of $$$$ over the years. I can't wait to try many of the recipes in this book, including the Cinnamon Filled Pudding Cake and many more. Thanks Gooseberry Patch for helping me feed my family quickly and for less once again!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites May 2 2012

I love almost all of the Gooseberry Patch books and whenever I see them for free on Amazon Kindle, I immediately download them. This book came to me via a friends Facebook, and I adore it.

It's kind of "Semi'Homemade with Sandra Lee", but it's the original gangster of cake mix cookbooks.

I like to bake---especially cakes, but sometimes I just don't feel like it. This books is so fun because it takes a creative thought (making a cake) and takes the hard part out. The book leaves the fun of decorating and flavoring a cake. All the recipes are easy, and especially ideal for quick desserts, or as recipes to make with kids.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Recipes April 10 2012

The cake recipes in this cookbook are easy to make and taste good. They are made from store bought, processed ingredients that I don't believe to be good for me. I don't know if it is because they fixed it, but the formatting is actually really good. It definitely could use a contents page, however.
