Book Description

Mar 3 2005 Spy High Series Two (Book 4)

Orphaned computer expert Calista Cross is a graduate of the Deveraux College, the highly secret school for teenage spies. And at the moment, she's not coping. Ben Stanton's death has hit her hard and she's so unfocused that she's in danger of being mind-wiped and expelled by the Devereaux organisation. What Cally needs is some action, and a new case involving the suspicious deaths of several nanotech specialists seems just the thing. But an anonymous email hinting that Cally could be close to finding out about her parents turns the case from professional to very, very personal. And more than one surprise is waiting for her.

4.0 out of 5 stars The series is wonderful, unfortunatly this is probably the weakest one Oct 21 2005

Format:Paperback
This is marketed as a stand-alone novel but if you want to get the most out of it, you'd read the 9 before it and 2 after. This follows the story of cally cross, codename calista green. calista green is a graduate of spy high. This book starts several years after they have graduated (their training is in books 1-6 or series one)and several weeks after her boyfriend, fellow agent benjamin stanton's death. As she investigates the attempted murder of a young genius, she comes to startling revelations about her boyfriends death, the young "victim"she is protecting, and her own past.

This is my favorite book series ever, but i fear this is the weakest book in the series. Our main character seems a bit inconsistent. In the first books her main storyline was her becoming more confident and it is all shattered by bens death. she becomes interested in another guy a few weeks later and has a good cry about how she doesnt want ben to hate her. *spoiler* then she finds out he isnt dead and falls in love with him all over again. she just seemed a bit too dependent on him. overall, i recommend the series as a whole but if you want a stand alone read, get edward red or agent orange also by aj butcherand based in the spy high universe.
