A game that needs no real review due to the quality reviews already on the market done by the professionals. I am reviewing the rest of what was given today. IE: A medal, four zombie maps and a power hungry robot spy car.First of all the medal: Wow. I already feel like I'm impersonating a fake officer. For a game whose main theme is "An operative who saves the world and gets no regoniztion for it." The medal sure is something. Four zombie maps: If your not going to play online. They are not needed. Going up against zombies in single player is just boring. Unless you are truly god's gift to destroying the undead, you will die in the earlier stages and not get to explore all of the maps. Power hungry yada yada: This monster machine takes TWELEVE batteries. Need I say more? Don't get me wrong. This car is cool for an added bonus. However the cost truly doesn't make ends meet. All in all? If even one of these things isn't for you; save your money. You should buy just the normal version of the game and perhaps purchase a map pack later on?

Man this game is in a word good, I truly see what all the big fuss is about. Modern Warfare 2 got me into 1st person shooters but this one more complexthan that. The graphics arent't as good as MW2. The weapons, voice-overs and missions are ok. And the multi-player is absolutely wicked, you can play split-screen multi-player this time around. I just love the new and old features, the new guns (crossbows, mac-11 and dragunov and explosive shells)and kill streaks (this time the kill streaks are more diverse), online campaign modes. Wager Matches is a beautiful addition using in-game currency, the multi-player maps and the new leveling up system and they also added realistic gore and dismemberment to the game which really makes it M-Rated worthy. I will definitely recommend this to anybody who's looking for a 1st person shooter, if you just so happen to feel you`re getting beat down in this game you can check out the Theater Mode, so you can analyze your own performances to make yourself better. The new modes in this game just keeps going and going and more importantly they're useful you'll love them. This time around everything is more in-depth, you don't just customize things you personalize them with new gun colors the gun colors kinda reminds me of Army of Two, emblems and etc. I am not too pleased with how you earn the pro-level for the perks, in MW2 you had an assigned challenge for each perk. With this you now have 3 challenges to complete to earn pro-level, I'm concerned earning the pro-level takes too long. But for an avid gamer it may be simpler. I can once again, see why this is the most anticipated game of the year, MW2 was hard to top and they didn't pull it off. By the way, I also really enjoy the RC-XD that came with the Prestige Edition it's a nice added bonus. Now for my review: GRAPHICS 4stars (it falls short of MW2 graphics), GAMEPLAY 5stars (it still handles like MW2), REALISM 4stars, WEAPONS 5stars, MULTI-PLAYER 5stars. Modern Warfare 2 kept me well entertained and challenged for an entire year, there's no doubt that Black Ops won't do the same. CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 5STARS... Cons:-Campaign mode: Treyarch was never one for a good plot. Single player is fun, but feels overloaded with adrenaline and explosions at times. -Online maps are considerably smaller, fans of sniping will gripe about this. -Max prestige mode has been upped to 15 (more resets, less level cap) -Graphics seem to have decreased slightly to make room for customization Pros: -TWO-PERSON ONLINE: Yes, you can now play with two people on the same system ONLINE. Finally. -Zombies: Treyarch knows what they do well, and they stick to it. More zombie maps, more styles, more fun. -Online Customization: Clan tags, player cards, guns, player look - it can all be customized -Tailored for CASUAL gamers (Kill streaks reduced, access to equipment early on) -More multiplayer game modes: Wager Match (Gun game, Sticks and Stones, One in the Chamber), more Hardcore game modes -RC-XD actually works! Very high quality, great video audio for price (Only available if you bought Prestige Edition) Reason Purchased: I purchased Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It only made sense to buy Call of Duty: Black Ops from a series I love/hate so much. Bottom Line: Treyarch knows what works for them, and they know what the people want. Their focus on customization and Zombies has left other industry players in the dust. I highly recommend this edition over the previous installments. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful

I received this game the day after it was released. The game is fun, but the remote controlled car that came with the Prestige Edition simply did not work.I tried to exchange it, but was unable to because it was out of stock. I had to pay to ship it off to the manufacturer to get it replaced. It took over a month and several phone calls to get it replaced. My son likes it, but I was dissapointed with the car even after we got one that works. The game itself is a lot of fun. |
