Call the Midwife is one of those shows that grabs you by the heart and takes you through a dance with many unexpected turns but leaves you feeling hopeful. I have cried during a few of the episodes, which is atypical for me, and speaks to the character development, pacing and content. The birth scenes might be too graphic for some, but I am interested in all things baby and medical so I find it fascinating. The period accuracy is great, and it offers a clear window into a poor area of London in the 1950s. My top 5 favourite dramas are all from the UK. Call the Midwife is newest on the list and I am keen for season 3.
