He was a perfect man living a perfect life...which made him a perfect killer.
Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams commanded the largest Canadian Forces base in the country. He had personally piloted prime ministers, dignitaries, and members of the British royal family, and was one of the most respected and trusted soldiers in the military.
He was also a rapist and a murderer.
This is the disturbing true account of how one of Canada's highest- ranking military officers became one of Canada's most notorious criminals, including his ultimate capture, trial and conviction for a twisted spree of sexual deviancy and two brutal rapes and murders.

Unsure what to say,
By Thomas W Holden (Kanata, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Camouflaged Killer: The Shocking Double Life of Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams (Paperback)
While I finished Camouflaged Killer by David A. Gibb. I gotta admit I'm torn in what to say about it. It is brutally graphic and sorta makes you feel like your sadistic reading porn in some parts. This book is not for the squeamish. If you can get thorough the first few chapters it is extremely interesting how they tracked him down and how the got him to confess. Also in the end of the book the author delves into how this could happen and what events in his life could have turned him into a killer. I found this very interesting. He also rips the police and the military a new one and I kinda think deservedly so.So my bottom line on if you should read it or not? I don't know, sorry. Gotta say after reading it I would not leave it out where company would see what I'm reading, it makes me feel a bit ashamed.

Sexually graphic and disturbing detail, but compelling reading and great analysis,
This review is from: Camouflaged Killer: The Shocking Double Life of Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams (Paperback)
Truth be told I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. It grabs you from the first page and literally pulls you through the rest. I read this book cover to cover in less than two days which is the first time I've ever read a book that fast! This book is not for the faint of heart though because there is a lot of graphic detail about what the colonel did to these poor victims. Even though the scenes are brought to life its hard to imagine the agony these women faced being sexually humiliated and degrading while fearing for their lives. This man was a sick animal and the author is right that its scary that he was able to fool so many people for so long. There seemed like there was no limit to his sick perversions and what he would do to satisfy them. I also found the pscyhological analysis really interesting and it answered a lot of questions that haven't been answered before although I don't think he killed before or else the police would've found out about it by now I'm sure. Overall its a terrible story but fascinating at the same time. Lets hope there isn't another one like him out there somewhere right now!

A Real-Life Monster Revealed,
This review is from: Camouflaged Killer: The Shocking Double Life of Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams (Paperback)
To say this book is shocking would be an understatement; in fact, it is hard to find the words to describe the brutality of this sick-minded bastard! As horrible as it is, I think it is a must-read for anyone in policing. It is unbelievable that Williams could have flown under the radar for so long, and the long list of his crimes that escalated to horrific murders leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I don't think the police acted quickly enough to warn women of the danger they were in, and it seems they dismissed some of the crimes as minor or imagined. The police did not connect the dots and got lucky when the brother of one of the victims identified tire-track imprints at the scene of the crime. My heart goes out to the victims, living and dead, and their families, who have and will continue to suffer endlessly because of Williams. There are some crimes, and this is one of them, that should allow for capital punishment. May he rot in hell. The author must be commended for a compelling book; he did his homework, as awful as it must have been, and wrote a book that will not be forgotten.
