This Book is a Treasure,
By StorytimeStandouts "Carolyn Hart" (British Columbia Canada) - See all my reviews (TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
This review is from: Can You See What I See? Treasure Ship (Hardcover)
Picture puzzles can be entertaining, intriguing and sometimes frustrating. As well, for our children, they represent a marvelous opportunity for cognitive development - especially when enjoyed with a chatty adult. Apart from noticing very small details, the discussion that will accompany a book like Can You See What I See? Treasure Ship is not-to-be missed. Walter Wick challenges his young readers to discover all sorts of wonderful words that they aren't likely to encounter unless an adult is part of the experience. So, come aboard, explore the bounty and share these vocabulary treasures: saber, peacock, hourglass, tattered, bugle and more.Note: the publisher provided a review copy of this book.

Genius,
By M. Heiss - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Can You See What I See? Treasure Ship (Hardcover)
Walter Wick is a genius. This book is my new favorite Can You See What I See/I Spy. (My old favorite was CYSWIS Dream Machine.) We got Treasure Ship as an Easter present, and it is fascinating. The pictures are so, so good -- and they lead your imagination on a grand adventure. Each picture is a puzzle in its own right, and then you turn the page and the camera seems to zoom out, giving you more context, and then more, and then more. Oh, it's great. You can use it to tell a story, you can use it as an early reader, you can play "find Seymour" on every page, you can stare and stare and always find something new. Every age loves this book -- everyone in the family, all our visitors. My introvert grade schooler loves doing it one-on-one with a grown up, my extrovert wild child loves to "race" to find the clues, teenagers and grandparents love it, right brainers and left brainers love it, and as for me -- the illustration junkie that I am -- I am blown away. Thank you, Walter Wick. You have an amazing talent. This is a book that makes us all glad. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful

Great look and find books!,

Can you See what I see are the best look and find books available. Wick is a true craftsman! I think we've bought every book in these series. The Treasure Ship is one of the most amazing books in the series. I just bought this for a 6yr old boy and my 4 yr old daughter loves it as well. The books are a bit advanced for a 4yr old, but she LOVES them and is able to find at least half of the items per page. There's a little wooden doll that's also hidden on every page of these book series; she loves to find this and screams in delight. We hope that Wick will continue to produce new books in this series!
