I use this book as a go to resource when "cheducating" folks about Canadian artisan cheeses and the best of curd that Canada has to offer. As a cheese sommelier in Ottawa, Ontario and former student of Kathy Guidi, I can attest to the wealth of information between the pages. From a getting to know cheese better (it leads you down a solid, sensible, logical, cheese 101 path as you flip the pages following the same flow that one would expect in a more formal cheese education setting, providing cheese knowledge foundation) to a handy reference of over a hundred top Canadian artisan cheeses (all chosen as solid representation of an excellent cheese in it's category) to a bit of Canadiana cheese lore, sharing personal tidbits about individual cheeses/cheesemakers, it's a book no Canadian (or any) cheese lover should be without. Mine is dog-eared, and marked up, but I still pull it out every time I'm teaching a class, enjoying one of my favourites, or sharing information with friends & family. Highly recommended for the cheese lover in your life!

This fun and savvy "guide book" is essential for easy navigation through the Canadian cheese case. Small enough to actually use while shopping. Conveniently divided into colour-coded sections by cheese type. Ms. Guidi is THE expert on the subject and her descriptions are accurate and informative. This book will make a great gift for any foodie!

A nice review of Canadian cheeses. I was hoping for recipes and it is my fault for getting a book of description versus instruction. But it is a good reference book all the same.
