“With such a concise resource, writers trying to sell (or place) just about any competent piece of work will likely find not only a toehold, but quite possibly a leg up to publication.”

5.0 out of 5 stars The Canadian Writer's Market Feb 29 2008
By Tami Brady HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER
As a Canadian writer, it is sometimes difficult to find information about Canadian writing resources. If you go on the Internet, there are plenty of sites and listings for American writers. There are also some really good writers' market directories available, containing primarily American content. These ample resources make it seem like the United States is the only market for writers. So much so that I think we often forget that we have some really great opportunities right here in Canada.

Thankfully, I picked up a copy of The Canadian Writer's Market. For easy use, this book is set up similar to Writer's Markets and Christian Writers' Market Guide with subdivisions for genres, trade publications, book publishers as well as extra resources about writing groups, agents, and competitions. In addition to these expected aspects, The Canadian Writer's Market also includes sections about scholarly and literary markets, daily newspapers, and support programs for writers. The Canadian Writer's Market is a must have for every Canadian writer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sells Itself (?) Jan 9 2012

My son says it is very useful and will help him sell his works. The cover is nice and it wasn't too expensive. It is the only book I have ever touched that is in its 17th edition. That is worth something.

I purchased this book for somebody who expressed an interest in writing. I flipped through it briefly before handing it over and it seemed to cover the basics. Who (to send it to), what (to submit), where (to mail it), etc...As the title states, it is aimed at Canadian market.

Could have saved paper by getting down to facts and stopped repeating the same info most of the time. I wanted to now who wanted to receive my manuscripts not who did last year but not interested this year. Someone on an ego trip somewhere.
