A large part of the book focuses on why traditional tax havens are not appropriate which I found to be a waste of time. I was hoping the author would concentrate on the US. I also get annoyed when a book recommends getting a cross border financial planning expert. I'm reading the book to acquire an understanding of the emigration process not to be told to go see an expert. Not useful in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Canadian's Best Tax Haven: The US Aug 15 2012
Format:Paperback
Mr. Keats does a great job of identifying the myths associated with the recommendations that wealthy Canadians should go "off shore" for a tax haven.

Mr. Keats goes through each of the 13 types of income and compares the tax conscequences of living in Canada, off shore and in the US. For 12 of those 13 types of income, the US is the clear winner. He also points that living off shore is not the best lifestyle choice for most Canadians.

A valuable book for wealthy Canadians looking to enhance their lifestyle.
