Firstly, I am appalled that Amazon.ca is unable to check and evaluate their product descriptions before posting them online. I would never see a mistake like this on other websites, and rarely on Amazon.com. This product only has 2 ink tanks (color and black), while Amazon sells it as having 5.
This is a beautiful printer. Relatively easy to setup. Easily connected to my wireless network (DLINK DIR 655 router). Connected to my computers running XP and Win 7 flawlessly.
Good print quality. Fast speeds for Printing, Copying and Faxing.
Have not printed a photo yet. Find it silly to use a home printer for printing photos that I can get printed at Walmart or Shoppers given the extreme costs of printer ink.
Canon printers are not normally built for Linux setup. However, they provide the linux drivers on their website. It took me a good 4-5 hours to figure out a way to set it up on my Ubuntu 11.04. But I had to play around with the program codes in order to have them setup. Scanner works well but only uses GIMP, and the printer is compatible now with all other applications.
In short:
Pros: Cheap for a wireless all-in-one; Easy wireless setup; Can print with an SD card; Can store incoming faxes as PDF on SD Card - Retrieve them from computer --> saves paper. Only 2 ink tanks = easier to replace but pricier.
Cons: No real cons. Mildly noisy. No double sided automatic document feeder, No double sided printing.
