This camera replaces my Canon A40 bought used for $40. and lasted 5 years nicely. Don't really understand what went wrong with this A40 but guess obsolete; was recycled at nearby depot! This A800 for $69. has got so much built in and has worked wonderfully since Jan. 1. Very compact, good battery life, bright screen, great Auto, zoom and many other features I have not begun to fully master. No more viewfinder but I guess they are gone forever with these cameras. Will recommend this quality at this price easily.

I was looking for a cheap camera for hiking (not to be sorry in case it's lost or damaged).
Image quality is OK, however Canon A800 is noticeably heavier and bulkier than Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS etc.
Also it's slower when focusing and saving pictures.
Pros: price and AA batteries.

CANON POWERSHOT A800 10MP DIGITAL CAMERA WITH 3.3X OPTICAL ZOOM[RED]
It is small, light, easy to point and shoot and fits in your purse. The foto's are sharp and colors lifelike . The price was very good.
