After seeing this cd remain in the top 30 in the smoooth jazz category the last few months, I was intrigued as to what ol' Daryl was up to! Well, after purchasing this cd and listening to it (over and over), I was disappointed that it wasn't really the smooth jazz groove I expected, but even more pleased that Daryl Hall sounds much as he did 25, 30 years ago...(wow, has it been that long?)
It is very Sarah Smile-esque and truly one of Daryl's best solo efforts. If there is a fault, it may be a bit too melodic and structured at times, but overall an incredible cd (both musically and vocally).
He remakes "She's Gone" beautifully, and "Cab Driver" is also very good, but I'm still trying to decide which song of these 11 are my favorite. She's Gone, but Daryl's back!!!
OLE', blue eyed boy....
