After pricing several similar items at large multi national chain stores and select fitness shops, I decided to try shopping on to see if there would be anything similar. This weight bench exactly matched what I was looking for and the price, delievered, was less than the others...way less!

Only for children May 23 2010

Very disappointed with this purchase. This bench could only be used by a very small person. My shoulders and arms could not possibly fit on this bench and the weight rest is so close together, none of the weight sets that I also ordered could be used (grips are centered over the two support arms). This bench should be clearly marked as a child's device and not be sold for even the most beginner weight lifting teen or adult.

Great beginner bench Dec 10 2010
By HL1956 - Published on
This bench has turned out to be surprising study and effecient. It's the right size for me and I'm able to use the butterfly attachments for some upper body workouts. My barbell set also fits nicely and I'm able to do many lifting exercises. The price was great too! Its fits nicely in my small workout room. I would recommend if you are looking for a junior type bench. Its not recommended for the hard core heavy lifters.

Epic Design Fail Sept. 24 2011

Bought this with no problems whatsoever with it being small, that's what we wanted for a smaller teenager and our tight space. The size is perfect. But this was designed no doubt by people who have never worked weights before. The Epic Fail = this "bench" cannot be used for bench presses, because the bar comes down on the side arms of the butterfly pad attachments, which are permanent and held up by permanent pegs. In our arrangement (5' bar), the bar plates themselves hit the butterfly pads causing great danger. With a wider bar, the bar itself will land on the butterfly pads well before you are at the bottom of your motion. If you slide way down the bench, you can clear the butterfly pads, but if you are big enough to do so, this bench is way too small and your butt is off the end, and if you are the right size, then you can no longer safely reach the bar rests to return the bar at the end of your reps because the bar is too far forward of the high posts. Inclining the bench makes it worse, you need to go even further forward with your body to clear the bar. This is a critically dangerous situation that I hope most intelligent folks would recognize right away and not even try to bench with this thing. Should also add that the butterfly is not sized down the way everything else is, so the pads are not in the right place for a smaller person, but you can still do butterflys, just feels a bit different.

Other notes... the construction of this is very suspect, minimally structurally integrity, it shifts around on its pressure fit feet, and the whole thing feels ready to fall if an adult gets on it. Several pieces are not square and the posts are 5+ degrees from vertical in the wrong direction. But again, since this was for a teenager who does not lift much weight, I think it could serve construction wise a few years, and at any rate what would you expect at this price anyway? But to be sure, it's not what is in the main Amazon photo (grey), it's what's in the second photo (black), and it doesn't have round sections as advertised and shown in photo 1, it's primarily square construction. We have also built out the Muscle Inc. FM-6121, for $30 more, the FM-6121 is 10 times the quality of this bench, much better construction... however, it is a full size bench for an adult and it takes up a good bit more space and requires a long bar.

If space is not an issue, buy a bigger bench. Unless you don't care about bench press, look away now.
Just too small and ackward. Aug. 16 2012

The biggest issue with this weight bench is that it is simply too small. It has a max capacity of 400lbs including the user. The arms that hold the barbell for bench presses are far too close together. My shoulders are too wide. The butterfly attachments are just in the way. It prevents you from having full motion of your bench press. As you come down, the bar hits the butterfly attachments well before it reaches your chest. With 115lbs resting on the bar in the bench press arms, the bench toppled over. The supports are not positions in a way to prevent it from falling backwards with weight resting on the rack. This bench will only work for someone really small. Only really petite women, children, and probably very few men.

Although I bought it more than a year ago, I only used it for the past two weeks. I like the size of this bench - it is lightweight, without being wobbly and/or making me feel unease. The weights are perfect to beginners - if you are beyond that point, you may need extra dumbbells.
