Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The three sacred glyphs...the mythic and forbidden symbols of an ancient world torn apart. Only these mystic relics have the power to open the Gateway of Chaos and lead the people to the Red Moon. Legend says that when the three glyphs meet, the three worlds will once again be reunited. Two men, once friends, now have their fates tied together by the tragic death of a young maiden. One, a brave young knight and summoner of the Chaos Legion. The other, a noble lord who has fallen to the dark side. Both hold the key to the sacred glyphs in their power. The legions shall be summoned in this dark gothic opera!

Blending action adventure and RPG elements, Chaos Legion puts a twist on the single-player melee by allowing you to summon a legion of allies to counter blitz attacks from relentless enemies. There are seven different legion units available for assistance, each with their own signature weaponry including bow and arrows, bombs, and swords.

Features

  • Increase the main character's abilities: one of the most significant features is your ability to power up the main character's attributes through the legions; for instance, if the sword legion's 'Enchant' ability is powered up, the main character will gain more powerful sword moves
  • Varied and detailed environments: Chaos Legion possesses beautifully rendered environments including ruins and caves that perfectly represent the dark mood of the game
  • Perfect blend of RPG and action elements: power up your legions increasing the number under control, attack, and defensive power you posses
  • Full 3D polygonal world: position the camera in anyway at any time, allowing you to see the action clearly; at any point, you can pull the camera directly behind the character with the push of a button; this will not only center the camera, but will adjust perspective allowing the character to be seen clearly in various situations
  • Magnificent battles: Chaos Legion features battles in which astonishing numbers of enemies are fighting on screen at one time; this feature gives you a true sense of epic battles in which two massive armies fight for victory

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome game., Aug 3 2004
By
Besil Lucovi (nowhere important) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chaos Legion (Video Game)
I first heard of this game by playing a demo of it from a playstation magazine. It was awesome and I just had to buy it so when I got my next paycheck, I went out and bought it right away.

At first, the game was pretty hard but eventually I got the hang of it. I beat the game through once on normal mode with Sieg in just under 23 hours. After the first time, I played it through with Arcia on Normal and Hard and then through Hard mode with Sieg. In total I've put about 70 hours into this game in the 2 weeks I've owned it and I'm still playing it.

But trust me, this game isn't for everyone. For me, I love this game and I don't even own Devil May Cry. But my friend majorly hates this game for no aparent reason. I recomend not buying this game, but instead renting it or playing demos at least before you make up your mind. This isn't a game meant to appeal to everyone.

Graphics - 8/10
The character and monster graphics as well as the effects and cinematics are great but the backgrounds are just okay. They are kinda rough and plain so that takes a bit away from the overall graphics.

Gameplay - 8/10
At the start, the game can seem kind of confusing and hard but after you get the controls under wraps, it's a breeze geeting perfect rank on any level.

Sound - 6/10
The music is okay but not that memorable. I can't even remeber a single background song from any level. The sound effects are good though but the ending theme song almost killed me. Whoever even thought of hiring whoever the guy was that sang the song should be shot. Not to mention the singer himself should be shunned from existence.

Replay - 9/10
The game is even funner the second or third time through and playing as Arcia adds even more to the fun. The challenge stays throughout the game so it never loses it's lustre.

Overall, this game is amazing, you should check it out.

1.0 out of 5 stars How is this like DMC?, May 4 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Chaos Legion (Video Game)
Ok the only thing that is similar to DMC is the fact that it was made by capcom. This game is horrible it has terrible graphics that are worse than DMC and the game play is monotonous. The whole game you run forward and get locked into a small space then swamped with enemies and you kill them all easily and move on to the next area. The game was just terrible I can't see how they made the connection with DMC at least DMC had some variety and had different enemies to fight in the game. I don't recommend anyone play this game even with the legions there's very little varriety in this game and not enough for anyone to stay focused long enough to want to play for more than an hour.

2.0 out of 5 stars Devil may cry copycats?, Jan 4 2004
By
George Rownd (Rochester, MN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chaos Legion (Video Game)
Wow. is there anyhting good about this game? The fighting is awful, so is the plot, graphics, sound, voice acting, duration. Tries to be cool like Devil may cry, but makes the game all the more stupid. The worst level design!
