5.0 out of 5 stars Comics at their finest July 5 2008
Format:Hardcover
It's always a pleasure when an old comic book stalwart catches on again with critical and fan popularity. For years Cap was a respected but largely ignored comic and hero. The came along Brubaker who along with Epting revitalized Cap and made him not only relevant again but exciting. They got people talking about someone besides Spider-Man, Batman and Superman with several very controversial plots and ideas that shook the comic industry.

This volume BEAUTIFULLY collects the 1st 25 issues including lots of great extras including the script to #25 with Brubaker's notes, profiles and interviews with both Brubaker & Epting. The writing is crisp, sharp and exciting. A real page turner. I defy you to try and stop reading part-way through. The art is top notch and perfectly suited.

Highly recommended for any comic book fan and fans of great stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome... Oct 31 2007
Format:Hardcover
Ed Brubaker deserves the praise he gets. Having watched Captain America's "new" series from the sidelines for years, this was my occasion to jump in. This huge, weighty addition to my collection provides uninterupted enjoyment. Awesome, can't say enough about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can only be described as: Pure Sex! Feb 9 2009
Format:Hardcover
If you ever questioned not liking Captain America or maybe didn't know if it would really be your thing. Well this has it all, it perfectly touches on Super Heros, War and Awesomeness. The other great thing with every page of this you will question if it will ever end (in a good way) because you are actually dreading the ending because that means....no more! BUT WAIT! This is not an omnibus at all because more volumes follow and you will be sure to purchase them directly after you finish this gem.
