As a long-standing fan of both Ryuichi Sakamoto and the Jobim trio, the unexpected combination of two of my favourites was very exciting. I bought the first album, "A Day In New York," and loved it, so when "Casa" came out, I bought it immediately. I was completely unprepared for the sheer breathtaking beauty of this record. I own - and know intimately - well over 3,000 albums. I recently did an analysis of all of them (quick statistical comparison of ratings) and was not surprised to see that "Casa" was confirmed as my favourite record in my entire collection. It is a perfect record. If you love bossa nova, or mellow Brazilian music in general, or you just like beautiful songs with a twist of misty melancholy, performed on traditional instruments, I guarantee you will love this record. I would part from every other CD in my collection before I gave up this treasure.
