HASH(0xa1e45f24) out of 5 stars Ingenious system for daily Christian prayer Jan. 7 2005
By Damon D. Hickey - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
"Celebrating Common Prayer" (in 2 editions: Pocket, in buckram over boards, and Presentation, in leather with ribbon marker) was devised by the Society of St. Francis of the Church of England. It contains 7 different services of Morning and Evening Prayer, designed for either group or individual use. Each is linked to one of the 7 seasons of the Church Year, with variations for each day of the week. During the 2 long periods of "ordinary time" following Epiphany and Pentecost, these 7 services are used (with minor modifications) in a 7-week cycle, again with variations for each day of the week. The book follows the plan of the Church of England's new "Book of Common Worship: Daily Prayer," but is more compact and self-contained. Everything needed for daily prayer is here, but may be supplemented with other scriptural or devotional readings. Also contains prayers for a variety of special occasions and a short service of night-time prayer. Travels well. The Archbishop of Canterbury has given copies of CCP to other bishops and recommended its use.

HASH(0xa1e685e8) out of 5 stars Not for me April 9 2014
By Liddon - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
There was an earlier version of the pocket version of Celebrating Common Prayer, which is the one to go for if you can find it. Not only was it truly pocket sized, but like the full CCP it used the American Psalter, the finest modern language psalter available for liturgical use. This new pocket edition opts for the dismal psalter used in Common Worship, which is inferior in every way.

HASH(0xa1e3cd38) out of 5 stars Common Prayer July 26 2013

I am a bit of a Book of Common Prayer nut. A friend recommended this Franciscan guide and I'm glad that he did. It is a valuable tool for my Morning Prayer worship.
