The Richest Theatre Voice Around,
By Marc Ginsburg (Bensalem, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
I first heard Anthony Warlow on the concept album of Jekyll and Hyde. I was instantly taken by the clarity, consistancy, and (most of all) range of his voice. This wonderful CD only reafirms my love of this man's talent. As a musical theatre singer, I am motivated and driven to someday reach the caliber of singing that Mr. Warlow upholds. His renditions of Music of the Night, Anthem, Bring Him Home, and Soliloquy (not to mention every other song on the CD) are masterpieces that can and should be listened to repeatedly without any loss of the emotion and moving power that he so effortlessly brings to every note.

A rarity in the realm of musical theater -- bar none.,
By Corey R. Houmand (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
My first introduction to Anthony Warlow came from various web surfing on a late weeknight. I came across his name, a name that I forced myself to remember. Later that year I purchased a copy of the complete work of Jekyll and Hyde. Enthralled, teary-eyed, and inspired by the waterfall of emotion exhibited in his fabulous rendition of "This is the Moment", I knew that this song would carry a musical theater legacy partly due to the arrangements and lyrics by very talented gentlemen, but even more from his rendition. Hailed by critics as a high baritone, not capable of delivering the high thrilling octaves of Michael Ball and Michael Crawford, Warlow assumes the dark, chocolate, vibrato, a vibrato that embellishes the apex of music performance. His emotion, resonance, and most importantly, love of singing are exhibited in this work. Each song is careful and poetic, meticulously developed from start to finish. Among my favorites are Anthem, Bring Him Home, and I prefer his powerful rendition of Music of the Night to Crawford's high pitched solilquoy. For a lover of old favorites of musical theater, for someone looking for emotional, inspiring songs, for someone looking for a performer who simultaneously embraces and shares his gift of song, Anthony Warlow is the man for you.

Amazing voice!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Centre Stage (Audio CD)
I first heard of Anthony from my friend's Les Miz recording and have since become a die-hard fan. Centre Stage was his first solo album, and it's amazing! His "Music of the Night" is beyond comparison and the whole album is both funny and incredibly moving. "Anthem" is my favorite in this set - it almost had me in tears the first time I heard it. This CD is a must for all Warlow fans and anyone wanting to hear some amazing singing!
