Product Description

Book 3 in the Crime Tells series. ""Have you ever wondered what it would be like with a woman we actually cared about? One who belonged just to us? One who wanted more from us than a good time... A woman we could have together or separately. One who saw us as individuals who came as a package deal? One who was waiting for us at the end of the day?"" ""No."" ""No?"" ""I like them easy and I like to share them with you. End of story, Benito."" Getting involved with any woman, much less one who might ultimately drive a wedge between him and Benito, is the last thing Dante needs, especially now, when his life is already in turmoil. The wealthy, influential family of a murder suspect he killed in the line of duty is portraying him as a trigger-happy vigilante, putting his career and reputation on the line. But as soon as he sees Calista Burke-and witnesses Benito's identical reaction to her-he knows the stakes have just gotten higher and a lifetime of never risking his heart is about to be put to the test.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cariboo Lunewulf, Feb 29 2008

This review is from: Challenged Pursuit (Paperback)
Stone, tired of living alone in an empty den, heads out for the town of Banff to occupy his time. On one of his recent trips, he meets Ali, a hot, young waitress with an innocent aura. Instantly intrigued by her bold personality, Stone knows that he'd like to spend some time getting to know Ali, however he doesn't want to lead her on - he's only in it for a quick fling. Stone suspects that Ali wouldn't be able to handle his aggressive nature, and he decides to show her a bit of adventure and send her on her way. He's surprised when he finds that he's the one who might be learning some lessons.

Ali has always gone after what she wants, and upon seeing Stone, she knows that he's the man she wants to gain experience with. Although Stone tells her that he's not good for her, Ali can't help the feelings of lust and attraction that draws her to him. When family business brings them together again, Ali is eager to rekindle their passionate night. However the two find that their plans won't go as smoothly as they'd hoped.

Stone must first deal with Ali's recalcitrant suitor and difficult den, while Ali must convince Stone that their relationship is worth overcoming the challenges they'll face.

Challenged is the latest installment in Lorie O'Clare's Cariboo series, and while as explosively hot as the previous books, was sparse in terms of plot and execution. I liked the energy between Stone and Ali, the way the two were so obviously attracted to each other and couldn't get enough. Yet, I was distracted by Stone's wishy washy attitude. Although Stone said he doesn't play games, I felt that's exactly what he did, backing away and changing his mind regarding his feelings for Ali. I felt the book was entertaining. Of course, I enjoyed Ms. O'Clare's trademark skill for building an exciting wolf world with dynamic characters and important secondary personalities. However, for those looking forward to another story in the Lunewulf series, you'll find this a pretty

average read.
