Product Description

As modern and contemporary as the new Charlie's Angels is supposed to be, the soundtrack, with the exception of a few new offerings from Destiny's Child, Aerosmith, and Fatboy Slim, is a nostalgic mix tape of 1970s and '80s hits. The older songs are fun and ripe for a party: Tavares's "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel," Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up (Part1)," and Deee-lite's "Groove is in the Heart" are certain to please a crowd. The new tracks, with one notable exception, are weak and contrived. Destiny's Child offers "Independent Women (Part 1)," an empty declaration of female self-reliance (aren't we over this already?). Aerosmith's "Angel's Eye" is, in a word, terrible. The exception is Caviar's "Tangerine Speedo," a trip-hoppy lounge groove that packs a sassy punch. All in all, Charlie's Angels is a solid purchase, but in spite of, not because of, the new material. --Courtney Kemp

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite soundtracks July 7 2004
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I bought this soundtrack when it first came out and I loved it. Sure, none of the songs on here may be considered high art, but if you love fun, upbeat, enjoyable music, then you can't go wrong with this soundtrack.
I like just about every song on here. The new songs and the older songs flow well together, and it's about the only place you'll find Heart's "Barracuda" and Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back" together on one CD. It is that kind of anything goes method of song selection that make this CD worth checking out. There's something for everyone, and I highly recommend it.

Well, Hi, I just have to say it's an excellent soundtrack, but I wrote just to ask your help because I'd like to know a song's name from the movie, it's been played when Angels appear to fight to the tall creepy guy, and also when he was falling from the Bridge. Any help you can offer, that would be appreciated. thank you

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing amazing, but still good. April 6 2004

Format:Audio CD
This is pretty much your typical soundtrack. It's got a few film-related songs, and then just a random selection of old and new. Highlights are from "Destiny's Child", "Heart", "The Vapors", and "Deee-lite". Of course most of the rest is good too, if you can stand to hear "Baby Got Back" one more time. I seem to remember a "Korn" song in the movie, but I guess that didn't quite fit in here. The sequel's soundtrack is decent too, but overall this one is better. Where else are you gonna hear "Tom Green" singing?

5.0 out of 5 stars This album rocks! Oct. 29 2003

For those of you who enjoy good music (unlike stefffeee from above) This cd has a great bunch of oldies but goodies and some great new songs. Destiny's Child came out with two solid songs. My personal favorite is Brandy (you're a fine girl). There's just a ton of great dance tunes on this disc. If you can appreciate old dance music, you'll appreciate this disc. I can't believe Stefffeee doesn't like Marvin Gaye?!? Who doesn't like Marvin Gaye...he's the king of soul! And to deny Heaven must be missing an angel?!? How can you not like such a cool dance beat and fun lyrics!! Everytime I hear that song it makes me want to just dance around! I love this cd! Definitely on of my favorites!

4.0 out of 5 stars Charlie's Angels~ Sept. 28 2003
Format:Audio CD
I've read some reviews here saying that this CD is bad. But that is not true. This CD has some bad songs and some very good songs. However, if you buy this CD your really taking a chance. The songs are "old" but they have good beats and some have nice lyrics. Probably the only reason that most of you bought this CD is for the Destiny's Child song(s). Good but the rest are good too!!

For all of those interested, the song playing in Knox's lair is Simon Says by Pharoahe Monch.

3.0 out of 5 stars Superb Aug. 12 2003
Format:Audio CD
Fantastic film and a fantastic soundtrack!!!
The new music on this CD is great - there's the unmistakable "Independent Woman" by the gorgeous Destiny's Child - "Angel's Eye" by the fantastic Aerosmith and the Charlie's Angels theme by Appolo 440.
The classics are a great trip down memory lane once you've heard them again - "True" by Spandeau Ballet, "Turning Japanese" by The Vapors to name but a few. Other classics on this collection belong to artists such as Marvin Gaye, Deee-Lite, Tavares, Leo Sayer, Sir Mix-A-Lot etc.
Well worth a listen!!!!!! Especially for Aerosmith alone !!!!!
