Book Description

February 2011
Golfers spend their lives chasing the perfect shot. Donald Trump chased the perfect course. The American tycoon scoured the planet for a site. When he settled on a secluded but dramatic corner of Scotland - his ancestral home and the place the game originated - it seemed like a 'tap in'. No one could have foreseen the extraordinary saga that would unfold - one that started with an argument about sand and led to an attempt to bring down a government; that raised profound questions about our relationship with the planet and the power of celebrity; and that forced a reticent people to fight for their own dreams. This is the story of the world's most charismatic billionaire and his quest to create paradise.

1.0 out of 5 stars This Course destroyed ancient sand dunes and Farmer's Livelihood! Aug. 5 2012

Format:Hardcover
This book is propaganda supporting a myth. The truth is that Trump forced people off their land, cut off peoples water supply and the project destroyed an ancient sand dune area of Scotland so the 1% could have a golf course. Arrogance at its worst!

4.0 out of 5 stars You might think he's a jerk.... Nov. 18 2011

but Trump knows how to get things done. This was a very good read about what it takes to get a golf course built in Scotland a-mid the environmental folks and the local decision makers.

Anyone interested in building a course over there might take this page-turner as a what-you-might-expect to run into...

I would recommend this book to folks researching golf in Scotland....
