Book Description

There’s an old joke that after years of marriage a man complains, “She changed!” and a woman complains “He didn’t!” Just as change is a part of life, it’s also a part of marriage—a healthy and normal part of it. But just because things have changed doesn’t mean you shouldn’t recognize yourself or your relationship with your husband.

Too many women wake up in their marriages and ask themselves, “Is this it?” After years of sharing domestic duties, raising kids, and balancing careers, many of us can’t help but wonder if we’re living the lives we intended to have.

Whether you have been married for two decades or two months, dating and relationship expert Andrea Syrtash shows how to create a more exciting and more fulfilling relationship with your spouse—and more important, with yourself. After all, you can’t expect to find passion in your relationship if you are not passionate about your own life!

With simple steps and fun exercises, Cheat On Your Husband provides the tools to help you combat boredom in your marriage and renew an easy, intimate connection with your spouse. Using real-life examples of couples who have benefited from her techniques, Syrtash debunks common marriage myths and shows how fun and fulfilling marriage can be.

4.0 out of 5 stars What??!! Sep 15 2011
By Jennifer Donovan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Yes, that was my first thought -- What in the World?? -- when I saw the title of this book. But reading the full subtitle clarified for me that it was a legitimate book on marriage, not some sleazy how-to guide.

I enjoyed this book. It's highly readable, and Andrea Syrtash uses her years of being a relationship advice columnist, her own marriage, and studies of other married couples to give concrete examples of the dos and don'ts of keeping your marriage alive.

The truth is that life and children and jobs often get in the way. We grow and change as people, but unfortunately our relationships often stagnate, or even regress as we give other things more attention than our marriage. And often it's not just our marriage we are neglecting as women, but ourselves too. Syrtash encourages women to get back in touch with themselves -- to be fun, spontaneous, and even sexy.

She does not write with a condemning judging tone, but I was convicted all the same. Seeing the mistakes of others in print reminded me that although I don't have a child-centered family and my husband I do take time for ourselves, that I've let things slide. I am glad that I read this and have been given the tools -- mostly just the encouragement -- to step it up a notch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideas, insight, and humor Sep 23 2011

This clever title led me to think I'd like this book... and I was right. Love the real life examples, vs instructions on 'how to' without content to back it. Everyone's situation is different, and Syrtash offers practical approaches, and 'nudges' to prioritize things differently, and writes with great style. Her humor lightens up what can be extreme life challenges, and her ideas are useful and practical. Yes, it takes planning, but it's well worth the investment and thought to find enjoyment in something that can often be taken for granted. Easy reading, great insight, and applicable content!

5.0 out of 5 stars An eye opener! Sep 6 2012
By JennVet - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book gives creative new approaches to life, relationships, and marriage. It's backed with many experiences from people of different ages and backgrounds and also gives tools for marriage in the current times concerning our fast-paced society filled with technological distractions. I wish I'd read this book when I first got married and I have a feeling it is a book I will go back to and read again at a later time as well. It's a keeper, just like my sweetie!
