Review

'An excellent start to a promising series. It is every boy's wish to be a spy, and this book will enthrall every single one of them.' -- The Bookseller Praise for books in the CHERUB series: 'Punchy, exciting, glamorous and, what's more, you'll completely wish it was true.' -- The Sunday Express 'An exciting, swiftly moving tale' -- School Librarian 20041001 'A fast-paced action thriller, which should turn into a fantastic series - if James manages to live that long.' -- Young Post 20041001

Product Description

When a small-time crook suddenly has big money on his hands, it's only natural that the police want to know where it came from. James' latest Cherub mission looks routine: make friends with the bad guy's children, infiltrate his home and dig up some leads for the cops to investigate. But the plot James begins to unravel isn't what anyone expected. And it seems like the only person who might know the truth is a reclusive eighteen-year-old boy. There's just one problem. The boy fell from a rooftop and died more than a year earlier.

5.0 out of 5 stars review read this, Nov 7 2010
By Carol Gould - Published on Amazon.com
this book is exciting and exzelirating. if you are a teen or have a teenager you care about and like who you would like to read more or if they already read and just want to give them a good book this series is the one. i red the first one and i was hooked. there are no slow parts in this book or this series unlike similar series like alex rider and the young james bond. so if you haven't read this you must it is a wonderful book series that grabs you right away and won't let go until you've red it all.

I purchased The Killing for my 13 year old son who read it in no time at all along with the rest of the series. He really enjoyed it and recommends it highly!!!

THE KILLING
By Robert Muchamore

James is a 13 year old spy, whose life is far from normal. It consists of tough training, and missions. He also gets a room full of objects a 13 year old would use. But just when he thinks he's on top of the world it all comes crashing down on him and now he's desperately trying to keep himself from making it worse.
I thought that this book was great it always managed to keep me gripping on to it always wanting to read the next page. One of the best parts about this book is that it can hook basically anyone. It has action, crime, relationships, and mystery. Another thing about this book is that you don't need to read the books before to understand what's going on. If you read this book and loved it I recommend that you read the rest of the series because they, like this one, are full of surprises and plot twists, which always keeps you on the edge of your seat. Although this book also contains some content that might be a bit bloody or inappropriate for younger readers. My favorite part of this book is the paintball fight in the beginning it seems like that part has the most action.
