I would have to say that this is a great cd. But I am one of the many who love punk. This is a really old punk cd and it's still great. But I wouldn't reccomend it to those who like punk thats sounds more studio polished. Here's what i rate the songs.
1.Carousel-great intro, great lines, great song 10/10
2.M+M's-A funny almost-love song, great guitar 10/10
3.Fentoozler-pretty good, but not best 7/10
4.Touchdown Boy-good rythm, very sick lyrics, lol 8/10
5.Strings-great chorus, good lyrics 9/10
6.Peggy Sue-sweet guitar, bass solo is awesome, and funny 10/10
7.Sometimes-definitely not my fav 6/10
8.Does My Breath Smell-Funny song, fastpaced, good 9/10
9.Cacophony-great bass and guitar, boring lyrics though 8/10
10.TV-cool intro, great verses, great chorus 10/10
11.Toast and Bananas-funny, but boring 7/10
12.Wasting Time-great song period. 10/10
13.Romeo and Rebecca-ok song, good rhythm 8/10
14.Ben Wah Balls-shows blink's humour, funny 8/10
15.Just About Done{with your butt}-funny, i like it 10/10
16.Depends-very funny, great sounding too 10/10

this CD rox my sox! My bubbins tremble with everglowing joy when I listen to this beautiful masterpiece of a compact disc. It makes me think of Donald and his Trumps and it makes my Mary Poppins pop! The point that I am trying to get through to all you overjoyed amazon shoppers who are probably going to buy dashboard confessional or some pure crap in the toilet like that instead is to buy cheshire cat instead. I got this CD from a neighbor and thought it was pretty good, but I brought to a friends house and forgot it there. His name is bobby bobbington. when I relized I forgot it I felt cold and all alone I needed it. So I got I listened to all the time and still do! But one sad day it fell out of my cd player and shattered. I held a funeral and burried it. It still lies there untouched and in peace. but I got a new one and it is still the best cd in the world. many buttpoopkids will say blink 182 went bad and went pop but this cd is also pop it just the older pop sound and without the bad new found glory type lyrics. BUY THIS CD!!!!!!!

Ah, 1998. I was but a wee 4th grader and had no idea punk music existed. But now, I have seen the light, and I could not be a happier person. This is, no doubt, Blink 182's best CD. Dude Ranch and Enema of the State are a close second, but nothing compares to Cheshire Cat (what the heck is a cheshire cat anyway?). This album is pretty much perfect. Here's a track by track review.
1 Carousel: Good drums, great way to sink into the CD. 4/5
2 M&M's: One of the best Blink songs ever. 5/5
3 Fentoozler: Good lyrics, and a nice flow. 4.75/5
4 Touchdown Boy: Funny, and good guitar: 5/5
5 Strings: This song is the reason I think Scott Raynor may have been a better drummer than Travis is. But then again, maybe I should shut up, cause Travis is darn good. Anyway, this is a great song. 5/5
6 Peggy Sue: Why is this called Peggy Sue? I didn't hear them say Peggy Sue. Anyway, I love the lyrics. This song calms me down when I get ticked at the world (which is basically 24/7). 5/5
7 Sometimes: Fast-paced, wakes me up on the bus in the morning. 5/5
8 Does My Breath Smell?: Don't ask me, I'm all the way over here (hahaha, Okay, I'm sorry, that was dumb). Sometimes I wonder if Blink 182 reads my mind or something, because this song describes the way I feel about all the dumb lame retarted broads in my school. I HATE PREPS! Anyway, great song. 5/5
9 Cacophony: Gotta love it. You'd only understand if you'd heard it. 5/5
10 TV: Kind of, uh... odd. But interesting nonetheless. 3/5
11 Toast and Bananas: Mmmmmmmmmmmm, Toast and Bananas. Yummy. And peanut better too. Yeah, bring it on. Sorry, but this song title makes me hungry every time I see it. Good song besides the tasty title. 5/5
12 Wasting Time: I'm wasting words.

About my last review, my title about the minty fresh breath has nothing to do with the song "does my breath smell". That was a coincidence. Anyway, I was not dissapointed with this CD at all. I really expected it to be very different after what I read. It is different, but in a good way. While "What's My Age Again" I will always consider a classic even if it was a post sell-out song, this is very good, too. I can't pick out a single great song out of this, but I think all these songs are worth listening to. The reviewers that said the recording quality isn't as good, that is true. Sometimes it sounds like it is from a tape recording someone made of their garage band. Tom's voice is sometimes off-key and not as strong as I think it should be at times (but I'm not complaining). And, yes, the songs are somewhat similar, but what do you expect. The cd definitely has a more raw sound to it, which isn't a bad thing. I especially liked Carousel, M&M's, Peggy Sue, Sometimes, Does my Breath Smell, Romeo and Rebecca, and Wasting Time. About Wasting Time, the intro is amazing! The problem is, Tom's voice doesn't sound right in this song. It also reminds me a lot of Depends. But that's okay, it's still awesome. And in Does My Breath Smell, the intro to that is strange... has anybody ever listened to what the others in the background are saying? It's just a little... random. The joke songs. Ben Wah Balls isn't so great, I didn't think, though the intro is sort of funny. Though I've always found several people doing the exact same laugh at the same tame strangely appealing. Just About Done... I cannot say enough about this song. Yes, the first time you hear it you will be confused as to why anyone would actually record a song like that.Read more ›
