All Right But Not Detailed Enough,

This book is helpful if you already know what you need to fix and where it's located. It was very helpful in showing how to remove the door panels to get at the power window motor. Unfortunately, when it came to find where the relay for the motor was located, I needed to get a Chilton's manual. You're better off with Chilton's if you need the detail.

This book has been quite the help in my quest to better understand my car and how to maintain it. I haven't done anything complicated with it, but I feel a little more confident it knowing how to do basic upkeep with the help of this book. The pictures are all black and white so sometimes it's hard to make out some of the details. Also, I occasionally find myself wishing there were a photo to illustrate something that they chose not to photograph. It's worth the purchase though, and I'm glad to have it.

Haynes manuals are a great reference and almost required if you do any sort of work on your own vehicle. Want to know how to change that hard-to-reach marker light? How do you remove a door panel? What kind of fuse just blew? I buy a Haynes for every car I own, because its value as reference material is well worth the low price. These manuals assume a light mechanical understanding - reasonable, because if you don't have a basic skill set you probably shouldn't be taking your car apart.I've found the schematics and diagrams most useful in troubleshooting as well as in installing stereo and lighting gear, among other things. Highly recommended. |
