About the Author
Doug Gelbert is the author of over 40 guidebooks on such diverse topics as national competitions, sports halls of fame, the Civil War, movie filming locations and the best places to hike with your dog. He has written over 300 walking tours of towns across America in the LOOK UP, AMERICA! series. He has authored over 200 mini-biographies of people behind our household brand names that appear in eBook form in the Man Behind The Brand. The product of a restless soul and a slightly warped sense of humor, Eric Nathan is a self-taught freelance travel photographer based in Cape Town. He grew up in South Africa and moved back in December 2009 after working in London for 12 years. It took him that long to accept that the British weather isn't going to improve any time soon but it also allowed him the time to hone his skill, travel extensively, thicken his skin and learn some humility. Though not necessarily in that order. During his time in London he also worked regularly as a video cameraman and had the dubious pleasure of filming publicity interviews with many Hollywood A-listers when they were in town to promote their latest releases. His latest venture has been delving into the creation of scenic time-lapse videos. Patiently shot in RAW using a stills camera and then laboriously post-processed into glorious full HD video. He is also presently pursuing two personal projects: the self-explanatory eLandscapes in Moonlight' and a collection of architectural shots of ceilings and roofs tentatively called eLook Up'. When not behind his cameras or tethered to his laptop he can usually be found trying to wangle an upgrade at the check-in desk or hiking somewhere on one of Cape Town's mountains. His miscellaneous qualifications include fluent French, an honours degree in Business Science, a (lapsed) pilot's license, a black belt in karate as well as a musical penchant, an erudition in prankstership and an ongoing tutelage in the lessons of life.
