Another Great Chicken Soup Book! Oct. 30 2011

In these tough economic times we sometimes need to be reminded to count our blessings and this wonderful book succeeds in achieving that goal. I especially enjoyed Section 6, The Joy of Giving. As a New Yorker I really related to Maureen C. Bruschi's story, "New York City's Greatest Underground Secret". Her honesty in the narrative and appreciation for the value of every individual made me reflect on my preconceived notions about people I really do not know. I have highly recommeded this thought provoking book to my colleagues, friends, and family and will be giving it out to many of them as a gift this holiday season. Keep up the good work!

Chick Soup Explores Happiness & Where To Find It In New Offering Jan. 18 2012
By Cyrus Webb - Published on
Format: Paperback
Whenever a new book in the CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL series comes out I am always excited to see what they are discussing this time. Sure enough, FIND YOUR HAPPINESS, is just the book many of us need to be able to realize our purpose and how to walk in it.

Sharing stories of individuals just like us and those that we know, the book helps us to see that happiness is not always about some lofty achievement. It can just be realizing your strengths, what you are good at and enjoy and how to be the person that you were truly meant to be.

This isn't to say that there will not be problems or even disappointments, but it does mean that those don't have to stop us from looking for our place in the world and walking in it. When you finish this book you will probably find yourself asking 'Can this really work for me?' The answer is yes, but you have to do what it takes to make it work for you. If you do, then you can find the happiness that others are enjoying today.

Inspirational! Jan. 15 2012
By Kailani @ An Island Life - Published on
Format: Paperback
With the new year upon us, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Finding Happiness is the perfect book to give me the inspiration to live my life in a way that makes me happy. Whether it be making time for yourself, doing something unexpected for the kids, or just finding something good in every single day . . . finding happiness is something we should all strive to do.

One of my favorite stories is The Happy Book. It's about a woman who suffers from depression. It would be easy for her to just let it overtake her life but instead she started writing in a little notebook every night . . . one thing that made her happy during the day. It didn't have to be anything big. It could be something like "I found a parking spot right in front when I was running late." or "My husband came home early." This forced her to seek out the positive rather than dwell on the negative. And when she's having a particularly bad day she can look back on all the other happy moments in her life. What a great idea!

I am so glad that I purchased this book. These stories are so inspiring. I saw someone on youtube who had the book and said she really liked it. I read 1 or 2 stories every morning while riding the train to work. This stories really help you evaluate life and the important things. I am more appreciative of the life I have. Reading these stories daily and starting my day off on a positive note has helped greatly.
