Eager to read more Sept. 15 2009
By Sharon Fields - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Yes, there really is a "What I learned from the cat" book despite the fact that this book cover site shows the cover for "What I learned from the dog." I have not read the whole book, but what I have read makes me want to read more. Many don't think of cats as teachers, but clearly there are lessons to be learned from all animals.

There are a few stories where, for humor sake, the cats are described more in human terms than as cats, but it gets the point across. The authors still learned something from the cats.

Most stories include the close relationship with cats, the heartwarming moments, as well the lessons. Saved by a Stray clearly shows the saving grace of a cat's love, a love "cat people" will recognize even if they lived easier lives than the girl in that story.

Like other Chicken Soup for the Soul books, these are uplifting stories with a variety of emotions and themes -- a little something for every mood.

Any cat lover will love this book and recognize the attitudes and amusing behaviors of our purry friends.

Excellent read! Oct. 9 2010
By Kevin L. Wagner - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
About a week after my first cat Chessie passed away, I found this book at my local supermarket and bought it. It was an excellent and comforting read. It helped me get through a very difficult time and inspired me to write down my awesome memories of my Chessie as well as my second cat Casey Jones and my new kitten Smokey.

A great collection of crazy cat antics and inspirational tales May 25 2010
By Kristen Wrenn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The great thing about all the Chicken Soup books is that you can pull them out at anytime and just take in a single moving, inspirational or funny story to brighten your day. They are around to make you happy and feel good, just like your beloved pets!

"What I Learned form the Cat" is so great because it opens eyes to the humor and love that comes with owning a cat - something diehard dog devotees can struggle to see. This is a wonderful book to keep on hand and give as a gift. It's hard not to enjoy the diverse tales!

As animal enthusiast and pet expert Wendy Diamond mentioned in the opening of the book, cats encourage a laziness and calmness in daily life that can be desperately needed and greatly appreciated. We should all take note and learn to find a comfy spot in the sun and enjoy a nice catnap!

Unconditional Love-Conditionally May 9 2012

I truly enjoyed reading these stories. I could see my own cat, Missa, in so many of the stories. Cat lovers know the unconditional love of a cat is conditional, and our love for them isn't.
