Love is a battlefield. Is there any situation that creates more tears, anger, or frustration than marriage? Probably not. But on the other hand, marriage can be the deepest source of joy, vitality, and renewal. This wonderful book takes real-life anecdotes and pours an overflowing cup of joy.

It's a collection of stories from couples who have been through the trenches -- couples who learn to laugh at life's difficulties and sorrows. Not that this is a book that says that marriage should be painless... far from it. This book is actually so powerful because of the perspective it brings to the pain all married couples experience.

And what is this perspective? It's that love is ultimately stronger than anything. So all the turmoil and problems fall into the background when viewed through eyes of love. If you're looking for a bit of a perspective shift -- and a rediscovery of the meaning of marriage -- this book might be just the soul-refreshing book of soup you need.

But if you're in need of more than "soul-nourishment" -- that is, if your relationship is in a rut -- you might want to try some stronger medicine. Something like The Couple's Survival Workbook.

I really have enjoyed reading most of the stories here, some are super funny while others bring one to tears...much like a happy marriage! I didn't give it 5 stars since a couple of the stories seemed to need more details or ended raher abrupt. Overall, good book.
