The Best Chicken Soup Book I've Ever Read June 8 2009
By Timothy Martin - Published on
Format: Paperback
If you're going through a difficult period in your life, this book can actually help. The stories, all 101 of them, deal with surviving everything from financial problems to natural disasters to living with illness and disability. I am not a big lover of self-help books, I prefer to learn from examples set by others. That's why this book means so much to me. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People contains personal stories from real people about meeting their challenges. Read this book and you'll feel like you have the courage to survive any crisis tht comes your way.

Teaches you to hang on during the tough times July 29 2009
By Christine Fernandez - The IE Mommy - Published on
Format: Paperback
The first book I received was Tough Times, Tough People. I cried and cheered as I read through this book at how the human spirit continues to thrive regardless of situations that sometimes seem helpless and never ending. I cried as I read about moms that had nothing and still managed to create lives full of joy andexcitement for their children. I cheered as I read about dads who found deeper more fulfilling connections with their families. Stories of 9/11 and faith kept me glued to my seat page after page.

The Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books has never once failed me in my expectations. This book is no excepction. It will leave you more thankful, appreciative and willing to tackle the difficult situations in your life. Insipriing with out a doubt.

This compilation of stories is particularly meaningful in today's environment. The stories describe people working together to help each other overcome the challenges of life. We all need to be reminded to look for the silver linings in our lives and to count our blessings!

It is simply amazing to read the stories of others who are struggling and trying to do their very best with what hand they have been dealt. "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger" and it is powerful to read about other people and gain strength from their strength.
