So far I've read both the Time Keeper 1 and 2 stories. They were both fun, entertaining, time travel stories. I think if the characters and time travel locations were flushed out in even more detail the books would be even more enjoyable. There are some parts of the books that I didn't like. There was one scene where Jean is trying to explain why Jesse is trying to go to school but doesn't have his parents around or any paperwork or immunizations. That scene dragged on too long and was an unbelievable fabrication that the father and principal just seem to accept with no doubts and no trouble. I did really like the different locales the travelers visited. It wasn't the typcial going back a hundred years to Scotland that so many time travel books seem to be about.
Jean and her brother Neil are from 1980s Dallas, Texas. They meet Jesse in what they think is 1858 frontier Texas but turns out to really be an alternate Earth that looks like 1858 Dallas only there are unicorns. Amy is from the future and her story will be detailed in book 3. Jean, Neil and Jesse travel back and forth between these three locales.
I thought it was funny how Jean's friend Tina is all gung ho one minute about saving an old building that is going to be torn down but then does a 360 when she sees its an old building with spiders, dark shadows and dirt. Her idealized cause falls flat when she sees the reality of the building.
There are of course some annoying spelling errors and some formatting issues but it seems like many ebooks have that problem, especially the ones that are offered free for a short time.
