Previous novels include The Endless Game, The Memory of All That, International Velvet, The Slipper & the Rose, Quicksand and A Song at Twilight. Non-fiction works also include two autobiographies, Notes for a Life and A Divided Life, and That Despicable Race, a history of the British acting tradition.
