J'ai été voir ce film en version anglaise : J'ignore donc si le doublage est de qualité et si la traduction est aussi bien ficelé.
Si vous aimez Chuck Palahniuk, n'hésiter pas. L'auteur nous apporte dans un univers beaucoup plus intimiste que Fight Club. (Je le prendrai comme référence puisque c'est sa seule nouvelle pour le moment à être sur grand écran). Ne vous attendez donc pas à un film à pareil déploiement et avec un traitement de l'image aussi magnifique et pointu que ce que peut faire David Fincher. Malgré un sujet beaucoup plus sensible, plus personnel, Chuck a su, grâce à son humour sanglant, a bien balancé le tout. Nous avons encore droit à des personnages tordus et attachants avec lesquels nous avons plus de point commun que nous le croyons. Le film est une représentation très fidèle du livre, quoique encore une fois, la fin ainsi que quelques petits détails soient différents sans toutefois choquer le fan le plus avertie. Pour ma part, je ne connaissais aucun membre de la distribution mais ils ont fait un très bon boulot : Les acteurs sont très convaincants et Victor n'aurait pas pu trouver meilleure représentation, malgré ce que disent les critiques. Attention: il faut enfermer les enfants dans le garde robe avant d'appuyer sur Play car il s'agit bien d'une satyre exploitant le thème des ''sex-addict''. Scènes hilarantes, romantiques et troublantes s'enchaîneront sous vos yeux avant que vous soyez pris dans la fin la plus irréelle et inattendu, signature de Chuck ! Très bon film mais je vous avouerai que ca ne convient pas à tout les publics.

INTERESTING OFF BEAT AND TWISTED DARK COMEDY!,

For those of us who like strange cinema, this is a no brainer! Sam Rockwell gives yet another great performance as a sex addict with a mother who is mentally ill in a hospital. This film could have been played completely straight as the subject matter is depressing at times. What makes this film so interesting is how this works as a twisted dark comedy. This is the kind of film you don't want to know too much about going into it, but be sure of this; if you like little films that go against the grain, then you will probably like 'Choke'. It has some good laughs, drama, interesting characters and story...and a fair amount of nudity and sex to boot!

I saw Choke the night it came out. It was a tough sell with my friends seeing as the week before I had made the fatal error of convincing everyone to see Death Race. The good news is that Choke got me out of bad taste movie jail. And the bad news, well there wasn't any. Choke rocked. Sam Rockwell should get an academy award for his stellar performance. Angelica Houston's performance is nothing less than top notch. Tackling the topic of sex addiction is a fresh idea. There seems to be a shortage of those in Hollywood. This one of those movies that helps me draw a line in the sand. Either you're with me on Choke, or you just don't get it.

I'm a big fan of Palahniuk, and I was really excited when I first found out that "Choke" was in the works to be a movie. Of course, I wasn't expecting the film to compare to the level of the book, but Choke delivers a good adaptation-- especially in the form of Sam Rockwell as the exceptionally deranged and humorous Victor Mancini. I couldn't picture a better actor to portray his character. Of course, the movie seemed too short, and there were parts missing from the book. All in all, Choke makes a solid transition from page to film, and I was very pleased with the result.
