4.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Homecoming, Feb 28 2004
This review is from: Christmas Homecoming (Paperback)
This warm Christmas collection gives us glimpses of far differing areas of the United States in the late 1800s, but they are all linked by the them of homecoming. And what makes Christmas any better than loved ones returning to their own? In A Place to Call Home, society woman Olivia Enicott-Jones is an unlikely companion for Irish immigrant Rory O?Kelly. The way they overcome these obstacles gives a lively and interesting read. The Heart of a Stranger, a delightful story, shows that people change and often what we think we know is not exactly true. Susannah Pruitt and Justin Rouser demonstrate this in an unusual way. Christmas Legacy tells the story of widow Josephine Patterson and widower Ben Akers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Legacy, Aug 27 2005

This review is from: Christmas Homecoming (Paperback)
Josephine Patterson's life has been on a downward spiral. Widowed and indebt, she hopes her late grandmother's will can bring some relief. Enter Ben Akers, a single father of five little girls. Ben's been running her grandmother's farm and hopes to continue doing so. Grandma Wilma has become like family to Ben and his children. She also sees an empty space in her granddaughter and Ben's lives. A special clause in Wilma's will forces Ben and Josephine to spend extended periods of time together. Will they catch the holiday spirit and the love bug? An endearing, light-hearted romance to get you in the holiday spirit.
