LIGHT READING..., July 16 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: A Christmas Masquerade (Paperback)
This was the first zebra regency romance that i read. I was a little dissapointed even though overall i liked it. For some reason it just seemed far fetched to me that throughout the whole book..Villiers and Laurentia...are so much in love but never have thoughts beyond kissing..PLEASE!!

A Light, Fun, if Improbable Read, Feb 15 2002

This review is from: A Christmas Masquerade (Paperback)
The plot was very improbable but ignore facts and just enjoy a sweet love story. I took pleasure that Laurentia wore her heart on her sleeve. With so many conniving females in Regency novels, it was refreshing. Villiers was the perfect husband and perfect Lord wishing to protect the woman he came to love. They made an engaging couple. The other characters, grandmama, Coxwell (the valet), and the villain (Sir Alan) were well portrayed too. After a leisurely pace the ending came awfully quick, tying it all up with a Christmas bow. I would have preferred a little more substance at the end but... it was nice to read a light tale for a change.

Light, holiday reading, Jan 20 2000

This review is from: A Christmas Masquerade (Paperback)
While this novel may not adhere to legal details of the Regency period, it is a fine book to curl up with by the fire on a winter night. The characters are entertaining, and the romance is sweet, even if the plot is unlikely in some respects. However, it is light fiction and just the thing for a romantic Christmas/Winter read!
