Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players. 2009.

By far one of the best Christmas albums money can buy!! I love this album, sure it has "filler" in it, but that is a small price to pay to hear Karen's beautiful voice. I reach for this Cd every year as my "go to" Christmas Music, I sit every year and wrap presents to it. Plus 21 tracks is long enough to play through dinner when most Christmas Cd's have 8 to 12 tracks, which I hate getting up in the middle of dinner to change the music. For even more fun look up The Carpenter's Christmas specials that aired on t.v in the 70's on the internet. One of my top 2 Christmas Albums. Worth every penny!!

Every song on this CD is a winner.This is the only Christmas CD I can happily listen to year round. Don't hesitate to buy this one!

Like most CDs, this one has a lot of filler to go along with a few good tracks. If you're considering buying it, the decision is really simple: Is the price of the CD worth it to you in order to hear Karen's marvelous voice on a few good arrangements ("Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "The Christmas Song", "Merry Christmas, Darling", maybe one or two others) -- even if the rest of the CD is uninspired at best, and some tracks are even embarrassingly bad? For me the answer was yes. But if you want every track to be a winner, you'll probably be disappointed.
