Product Description

From Amazon.com

Like all Cirque du Soleil productions, Journey of Man is a showcase for transcendent beauty and astonishing physical achievement. Originally produced as a 3-D IMAX presentation, this 39-minute film remains impressive on smaller screens, although its guiding theme (the evolution of humankind through the power of dreams, faith, and love) is sweetly contrived. It's the way this theme is expressed that matters: elements of Cirque du Soleil's awe-inspiring stage act are performed amidst wondrous settings, accompanied by Benoît Jutras's inspiring score, and metaphorically representing the birth, growth, and maturity of "the Universal Child." The journey of man comes full circle to the sustaining belief that all things are possible. It's this point that is best expressed by the remarkable feats of Cirque du Soleil's lavishly costumed performers, including a uniquely graceful underwater ballet, swooping bungee- cord choreography, two precisely balanced human "statues" in perfect synchronicity, and other wonders that must be seen to be believed. --Jeff Shannon

2.0 out of 5 stars Do not recommend this to anyone, Mar 1 2012
Everyone who has seen this here our my living room agrees that no one liked this production.
Some movies need to be rented before purchasing, this defiantly fits that category.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 3D film, Jan 29 2012
We loved this 3D movie production of Cirque du Soleil. It's great to see a Cirque production in movie version and in 3D it's absolutely fantastic!

1.0 out of 5 stars Fussy Disk will not work on LG 3D Blu-ray player, July 6 2011
Neither the 2D or 3D version on this disk plays properly on my LG 3D Blu-ray player which has the latest firmware installed. After less than 5 minutes, the picture freezes for a few seconds and then goes back to the start. After checking to see if there was anything obvious like finger prints or scratches, I tried a few more times without luck. Advancing past the drum sequence produces the same freezing result. My Samsung (non-3D) player had no trouble playing the disk.

This is the first Blu-ray disk I've ever encountered that was fussy about what kind of machine it's played on. I now see others have had similar issues so this is not an isolated incident. The show looks great but I cannot recommend this product to others.
