Product Description

Easily connect your computer, game console, DVR, or other device to a wired network with the Linksys USB Ethernet Adapter. Small and light, it connects to the USB port of your device and provides an Ethernet jack to connect to your network.

The Network Adapter gets its power through the USB connection, so no power cord is necessary. It's compatible with USB 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 ports. The design is small and rugged enough to travel when you do, so you can be connected almost anywhere you go.

Once you're connected, you can keep in touch with your e-mail, access the Internet, use instant messaging to chat with friends, and share files and other resources such as printers and hard disk storage space with other computers on the network. So get connected the easy way with the Linksys USB Ethernet Adapter.

I ordered this product to use with a Mac Mini. I wanted to set up my Mini with 2 ethernet ports. I plugged it in and the Mac OS (10.6.8) found the adapter, no driver install required. I also tested it with Ubuntu 11.04 on the same Mac Mini and it just found the adapter. I haven't had a product do that in a long time. Excellent!

This product works wonderfully, but there's a key detail in the description that I didn't notice when I ordered it: any 10/100 MBPS network. Which means no gigabit ethernet, which has been the standard for the past 5 years. If you want to use this to move large amounts of data (e.g. to connect with a NAS, like I want to), look for a gigabit adapter.

It is definitely better than wi-fi and the software is built into Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Mine came packaged with a cool clip that holds the adapter together in a way that prevents dust or damage to the inner pins of both ends of the adapter.

If all you have is wired ethernet access to the internet for your Asus TF101, then get this and you will not be disappointed. Make your Transformer even more useful.
