The biggest problem is the random disconnection from iPhone. Apparently, this is a known problem with this watch and I am hoping a software fix will correct the problem.

Another "Feature" that is not cool is that is uses it's own email client for email notification. Works with Yahoo, Gmail and AOL that support IMAP protocol only. No luck with Hotmail. A workaround is to route your Hotmail to Gmail. It kind of work but I don't like it. For now, I do not have Hotmail notification.

The watch is nicely built and with good styling. I like it but would like to see some major improvement to the software.

I have one.....it to drops the Bluetooth iPhone connection even with my iPhone in my pocket.
I have sent this watch back to Citizen twice now, the last time was for it not charging, no matter where you left the watch to charge it would not.
Anyway, Citizen have been super great with their service and have replaced the watch for me with the latest firmware update.
So here's hoping all will be good now. I will get my new watch today (hopefully).
And now we wait and see.....Stay tuned!

Love it! Dec 7 2012

I purchased this as a gift and the recipient loves it. He was specifically looking for a watch with a non-metal band because he works with his hands and didn't want to bang it around

He says the watch is very comfortable and was extremely impressed with the Bluetooth feature

If you want to get an idea what options the Bluetooth feature gives - simply download the free Citizen Proximity app. The vibrate features are OPTIONAL and you can adjust the settings on your phone.

The only bad thing is that you have to hit "connect" after 6 hours (a feature used to save the battery) but that's not a hassle. The watch connects quickly and the Bluetooth feature is a huge advantage when he's working all day and receiving calls & messages.

Love it!

Great watch - a little complicated though Feb. 27 2014

I bought this watch not realizing it can connect to an iPhone via bluetooth. Not that I have an iPhone, it's just that I don't see the point in connecting a watch with hands to a phone, so it wasn't a selling point for me.

Looks - the watch is beautiful. The face has a lot of depth and layers which catch the eye from every angle. I've only worn it for a day and I've already received more complements than I care to count.

Function - I bought the watch from Discount Watch Sellers (Amazon store). Either the watch doesn't come with an instruction manual (which it DEFINITELY needs) or they didn't include one. Anyway, about a half hour after finding the owner's manual via Google, I had my time and calendar set. I'm the type of person who can usually ignore the instructions and figure out how to set up my devices, but this one definitely required some ink and paper. Highly complex to set up, but once you've done it, it's fairly easy to remember what you did.

Long story short, if this watch were easier to set up, I would have given it five stars. Since it's so complicated, I decided to give it four.

So So Dec 6 2012

Background - I collect watches - mostly automatic and windup. I admire the Eco drive concept and this is my first Eco Drive watch. Upside - it is an affordable low end watch. Downside - not as advertised. The Bluetooth connection is very finicky. I've had to have my iPhone 5 forget the watch and "pair" again just to re-connect every time the watch has lost connection with the phone. I don't need the watch to buzz me when I get new mail or of a calendar appointment, I want the watch to sync with the iPhone to get the accurate time. Without connecting to the iPhone the Proximity is already 2 seconds slow in one day - hardly the accuracy promised in Citizen's literature and very poor for a quartz watch. My lowest end automatic keeps better time. In the end, in the absence of seemless bluetooth connectivity to the iPhone this watch is a gimmick.

new citizen concept Dec 1 2012
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Citizen has combined an eco drive watch with usual features of a perpetual chronogaph with a new twist, iPhone connectivity. After reading a rather voluminous instruction manual the actual pairing is efficient and easy to perform. The watch updates instantly once the bluetooth connectiviy is established. Signals for incoming e mail and calls are achieved with a vibration feature that allows a silent phone to be placed in positions remote from the user. Have only had the watch for a short time, will have to see how it functions over a longer period of time.

It's OK Jan. 3 2013

After purchasing this watch, I found out that it supports IMAP-type e-mails only, which I don't have (Comcast). You also have to re-pair the watch every time it loses the pairing for any reason with actions on both the watch and the iPhone, which takes some time to do. Also, the vibrating notice of a call, etc. is one time only, so you're not sure if you actually felt something or not. The dial is hard to read in other that excellent light- dark blue hands on a black background is tough. Lastly, why have a watch that's water-resistant with a leather watchband? If you actually wore it anywhere near the water, it would probably get ruined.(I'm not going to try!)
I really like Citizen watches, now owning 4 eco-drives, but this one is a miss.
BTW, Amazon did deliver on time.
