Product Description

The Tenth Edition of this popular casebook explores cutting edge issues and incorporates new Supreme Court cases that impact subject-matter jurisdiction (Grable), pleading (Twombly), joinder (Pimentel), and other important topics, and also explores the effect of recent federal statutes such as the Class Action Fairness Act. The casebook covers all of the major topics that a professor might wish to teach in a first-year course, and can easily be adapted for courses of one- or two-semesters, of different credit hours, and with varied practical or theoretical emphases.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Luck Sep 27 2010
By R. Hayes - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
The publisher of this book has done a absolute awful job or organizing the material. If your professor assigns you this reading as your primary text for Civil Procedure may god have mercy on your soul.

I have two recommendation both in the form of supplements

The first which is designed to follow this casebook. "Learning Civil Procedure" by: David Dithfurth
The Second, a more general but just as valuable. "Examples and Explanations" by: Aspen Publishing, make sure to get the latest edition.

Good Luck in Law School!

4.0 out of 5 stars Civil Procedure: Cases & Materials, 10th Ed. Oct 16 2011
By Law Student Lee - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a hard cover textbook of over 1300 pages. It contains extensive Notes & Questions after every section and ends with a Critique of Adversarial Justice, which is quite interesting. It also has a section on Transfer of Venue in Federal Courts and Court's Competency. There is a supplemental book (2010 & 2011)to this book and should be purchased at the same time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good Mar 11 2011
By KnowItAll - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
As far as casebooks go I haven't had any complaints with the book except for the fact that this new edition has turned some really important cases into note cases, so students may overlook them and their importance. However, other than that this book is pretty good.
