Review

The world Hubbard presents to readers is original and unexpectedly complicated as it unveils itself piece by piece through the filter of Ksar's baffled observations and Yaryk's ambitious plans. Clan of the Dung-Sniffers is entertaining and offbeat, a first novel for Hubbard to be proud of." - Dru Pagliassotti, The Harrow

"A Fantasy adventure about facing one's weaknesses head on, "Clan of the Dung-Sniffers" is a top pick for anyone seeking something bit different in their fantasy, and will likely be a popular lend in community library fantasy collections." - Midwest Book Review, "Wisconsin Bookwatch"

5.0 out of 5 stars Strange title, great story!, Jan 14 2008
By
This review is from: Clan of the Dung-Sniffers (Paperback)
From the very first page, it was evident that I was in for a "rollercoaster" ride (sorry for the cliche). Lee Danielle Hubbard grabbed hold of me and my emotions and led them around the world she created. It truly is a magnificent peice of art and literature.

Instead of creating a novel which would deal with ordinary people overcoming extraordinary odds, Lee Danielle Hubbard created a masterpeice that had regular people (merchants, guards, etc) overcoming an odd that was not extraordinary, but something that could happen to anyone. The group of friends (the Clan of the Dung-Sniffers) broke a sacred object of worship; something anyone could do and solve with relatively easy means... Well the group doesn't quite have an easy time. It is humorous how they repair the mystical object of worship, and in the meantime fight the urge to turn into giant blue birds.

Lee Danielle Hubbard has been able to capture and seize a magical world which is crafted perfectly, right down to the grain in the marble.

It is a humorous tale that will leave you speechless and wanting a sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantasy adventure about facing one's weaknesses head on, July 11 2008
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Clan of the Dung-Sniffers (Paperback)
Rebellion is the last option of the desperate and oppressed. "Clan of the Dung-Sniffers" follows the titular group as they are driven to restore the treasured object of their people, an icon known only as the radiance. They must overcome countless physical challenges alongside their self-doubt. A fantasy adventure about facing one's weaknesses head on, "Clan of the Dung Sniffers" is a top pick for anyone seeking something a bit different in their fantasy, and will likely be a popular lend in community library fantasy collections.
