4.0 out of 5 stars A little lengthy Jan. 24 2013

While I enjoyed the book, sometimes I feel that paragraphs were redundant and some could have been left out all together. It's an interesting story and how people are mated is interesting a bit strange, but it just seems like the teacher tries too hard to reject the student's advances while the student, who isn't very educated for reasons that he can't help, makes more sense and comes off logical while the teacher comes off as bumbling at times. But it is steamy at some parts, romantic and has you rooting for the student more than the teacher. At least I did. I can't give it a full 5 stars or even 4.5 because-even though I'm a big Yamila fan-this could have been shorter but it is still very well done and descriptive.

I read a lot of yaoi and the story lines can get a little same o same o but not with this story. It is a little out there but the way it was written it made you wish there was a world like their's really existed, so unique and like I said sexy sexy. Enjoy!

I love the relationship that is here, not just between the 2 main characters, but the relationship in how they have groups of people rallying behind them. I'll probably be reading this over and over for a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rushed, fuzzy conclusion Oct. 4 2012

This second and last book of the Class Mate series is like a piece of candy, thrown out for fangirls to gobble up.

It's everything you want in a nice, neat package, along with everything you didn't want too.

Ms. Gray causes trouble, as we suspected, the boys have to fight for Mr. Taggert's reputation and sweet Duncan gets a chance to further his education and hopefully escape poverty.

There's a plottwist, in the form of of all things SPOILER ALERT a death, and a character who loses a hand. This served as a jarring, intriguing surprise which added still more depth to this magical, unique world.

However, the scenes following this seemed rushed and did not draw out the emotional charges they could have. We have that brief sense of shock and a little sadness, maybe, but that changes quickly back to fuzziness which continues straight to the end.

The book is not long enough, not emotionally deep enough, and annoyingly addictive. You can't NOT buy this book. It's an absolute must if you've read the first one, but I can also say you won't be dissapointed. You'll wish you could get a book III, but that's just about it.

If I had to point out one thing which annoyed me? Duncan's dialogue. He is too blunt and sometimes the things he says come off as just plain unrealistic. He can sometimes sound more like a narrator than a character, so I caught myself rolling my eyes at him more than once.

My final word: be ready to buy both this and its predecessor.

I don't want to say more for fear of spoiling too much of the fun you're about to have reading this series.

It was a very interesting story. The plot was interesting and I was intertained. The writing could be stronger but overall I wasn't disappointed.
