The Classic Albums Collection [Box set, Limited Edition]

Below is the complete track listing as provided by Mr. Glenn Cook on the U.K. Amazon site. As noted by other reviewers there the set does not contain "Xanadu" or "Zoom" which is Jeff Lynne only. Also none of the ELO Part Two or live albums. I wish the set had included all of the rare tracks from the "Afterglow" and "Flashback" albums such as 'Hello My Old Friend', 'Buildings Have Eyes', and 'Helpless'. The "Xanadu" tracks are missed as well, I like those songs.

If you don't already have every ELO cd, then it is a must to get this set because you get ALL ELEVEN ELO ALBUMS, REMASTERED, EACH WITH 3 OR MORE BONUS TRACKS ADDED AND A BOOKLET THAT HAS JEFF LYNNE DESCRIBING EVERY SONG OFF OF EVERY ALBUM!!!! The Mini Lp sleeves that hold the discs are just like the old record covers...If the record was a gatefold record, then the mini cover is a gatefold cover....IT'S GREAT TO HAVE ALL ELEVEN ALBUMS RECORDED AT THE SAME LEVEL....WHEN GOING FROM ONE ALBUM TO THE NEXT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO ADJUST THE VOLUME....IF THE VOLUME WAS COMFORTABLE ON THE CD YOU WERE LISTENING TO, THEN IT WILL BE COMFORTABLE ON THE NEXT ONE... You can't say that will all groups remasters...Some of them are too loud, then the next one not loud enough and so on.... If you have all of the 2006 ELO remasters, the only reason to get this is to save A LOT OF SPACE...ALL ELEVEN CDS ARE IN A BOX THAT TAKES UP ABOUT AS MUCH SPACE AS 4 CDS...FOR THE PRICE, THIS IS UNBEATABLE!!!!! FIVE DOLLARS EACH FOR 11 REMASTERED CDS WITH BONUS TRACKS IS RARE IN THESE TIMES.....GRAB THIS SET BEFORE THEY COME TO THEIR SENSES!!! ELO IS THE BEST AND THIS SET WILL HELP YOU REMEMBER WHY!!!!!!

What a deal! Eleven remastered albums all with bonus tracks and the CD sleeves are reproductions of the original album covers. ELO is one of my favorite 70s bands, and the booklet notes by Jeff Lynne, while not extensive, are really interesting. The sound is also very good, certainly better than some of my original CDs.

I ordered a new import copy from one the UK sellers in the Marketplace for a total price with shipping of just under $34. They sent it airmail and it arrived a little more than a week after I ordered it. That's less than $4 per album!
