This volume collects for the first time ever the last ten issues of the marvel run of Larry Hama's GI Joe, which ended in 1994. Since the original prints of these stories were produced in fewer numbers than most of the other issues of the run, they have been expensive to collect on the secondary market. Until now! In fact, issue 153 and 154 are around 25 dollars each with the famous last issue costing from 90 to 100 dollars! That last issue itself, in which Larry Hama has Snake Eyes write a letter to Wade Collins' son regarding the decision to join the military, is one you don't want to miss. A must have for the GI Joe collector!
Only down side to getting it here is that it will almost definately come damaged. I have collected somewhere around 20 GI Joe tradebacks from amazon.com, and they simply come damaged. You save money since they are about 8 dollars cheaper each than in booksamillion and such, but they come damaged. Sometimes they come in bubble envelopes and sometimes they bang around in a box without being snugged up enough with packing materials, but either way, they usually are damaged. I've had them with torn covers about an inch and a half long, scratches down the spine, but usually dented corners are a problem. This volume (vol 15) came with a crazy big dent that has really bothered me, I keep trying to bend the pages back in place but it can't really be done. Amazon has great customer service, but if you swap it out with another issue guess what? It comes damaged. They simply do not know or are unwilling to pack tradebacks in such a way that they won't come damaged. Shame too, since they have such a great price, but as a collector I really don't want banged up books.
