4.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the family... Jan 26 2010
I was a little skeptical when I bought the series one and two...I didn't really know anything about it....however, it was pretty good. The humour is simple, the characters are well written and the plot draws you in...it feels like you are big brother in a small English town... I do have to say that after loving Dawn French as the Vicar; it is really hard to see her in the role as Rosie...not so funny.

I watched this but soon lost interest. It was funny but the humour was a bit tasteless. I found it a bit boring.

This little tale of the Ladies Guild is well worth watching. More a story of the lives of a group of women than a strong comedy however no less watchable for that. A modern day Cranford. Some great performances. Agree with another reviewer that Dawn French has the weakest character and thus does not contribute the high level of humour in the Vicar of Dibley. Other characters compensate for this and overall the effect is charming.
