Entertaining and compelling,

First of all, Claws IS a short story and a darned good one. I bought it as an eBook for .99. Listing it at over $11 could be a mistake and anyone who paid novel price for it should contact Amazon and query the pricing. Anyway, the story of Ben Cooper's search for the villian who is stealing endangered birds' eggs and fledgelings and, subsequently, becomes a murder victim, is a riveting story. Descriptions of the moors are compelling as usual and Booth manages, in about 50 pages, to flesh out the characters and again show Ben's human side. I am now looking forward to Booth's The Dead Place.Gloria Ferris Author, Cheat the Hangman

This is a tiny little book -- the kind they give you free on the overnight train from London to Ediburgh. It is outrageous that the price of this book is the same as for a regular=sized book. It is nothing but a short story, and the packaging and promotion is VERY misleading.

this was the first book I had read by Stephen Booth and I found it to be rather meager in its language and approach. Since then I have read his latest one The Devil's Edge and found it to be a much better read. Would not recommend The Claw as a good read.

I was very disappointed as I had enjoyed all of Stephen's other books. It was 80 pages only. I couldn't believe it. He must have been having writer's block.
