5.0 out of 5 stars Like Sloan, but better!, April 21 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Clayton Park (Audio CD)
Yet another band to come out of the amazing Halifax rock scene. These guys put on a memorable live show, and their newest album does not dissapoint. "Violent Dreams" made me nearly wet myself, and the rest of the album is just as powerful. Buy this album, buy this album, buy this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little tip for people who like to be ahead of style:, Aug 29 2002
This review is from: Clayton Park (Audio CD)
Where I'm from folks, the name Thrush Hermit inspires a quiet awe in the right crouds... that is to say the cool crouds. Some day this band will be known as what Joel Plaskett did before his trip to the hospital, as much of an understatement that is. And if you don't know who Joel Plaskett is, well you'd better find out for fear of being left behind in a cloud of out of touch losers and the feelings of those who have been left behind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Building block for a musical genius, Aug 11 2006
By Colin W. Finlay - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Clayton Park (Audio CD)
I became a member of Amazon JUST to write this review. If you are a Joel Plaskett Emergency fan, then this CD is a MUST! In this cd you find a harder, more rocking out side to plaskett. Songs sound more deep and meaningfull. This CD has been in my car for over 2 weeks and I can't put take it out. Songs like 'we are being reduced', 'uneventful', 'the day we hit the coast' and 'from the back of the film' will leave you craving more. Plaskett and co-songwriter Rob Benvie create magic on this album, splitting vocals on songs and Rob's song "Headin' South" is nothing Plaskett would ever write but it fits into the album so well. This cd blends generation X rock with the soul of the east coast into one. It is a must in any music lovers cd collection.
